I have an interview at Lowe's this Thursday. Now, we all know my first choice of full time employment would be a fishing shop (if it paid enough). But a hardware store, with big tools, lumber, landscaping, lawn mowers, chainsaws.....omg. TOYS!!!! I honestly don't know what to expect. After I got of the phone with the lady, I couldn't help saying "Wait'll they get a load of me." in my best Jack voice.

Some do's and don't's

Some do's and don't's

Some people would tell you to research their company website to learn as much as possible, dress nicely but no suit, clean your fingernails, etc. :) I have some different rules for some people...no two minute long belching :naughty: ...no sound effects like water dripping ...no gas leaks with or without audible warnings  :protest:...no inappropriate sarcasm.
Don't let them push you around but don't be shy about asking for what you want.

Is it the Lowes here in Keizer? If so, you are literally in our backyard. Let me know if you are hired and I will stop by and say hi. Until then I will say a prayer for your success. Good luck,

It's the Lowe's over off of Mission. Still not too far to come and say hi though. I won't belch or anything. I have done this before ya know. It's just been about 4 years. I never realized how long I worked at the repo yard until I started putting it on applications. I wonder if I get hired, if they'll back date employee purchases and give me a refund on my bb-q and equipment I've used to make things around the house. .......... Yeah I know, good luck.

Good luck Michelle! You might keep your affinity for pink chairs on the down low(e) though...It might detract from your "manliness" that they are looking for in their employees, and I don't want that to prevent you from a job playing with all kinds of man toys and a sweet employee discount.

Well thank you GINA! I just got back from the interview. I'd say I did alright. They said that they would be calling people within the next couple of days to schedule a second interview. I'm not going to sweat it though. If they do hire me, great! If they don't, well it's a seasonal job expected to be closed in September, and I could follow through with going back to school and what not. I just need to make all the necessary appointments.
