My fishing logs keep me on top of the game. For sure! I can look back on the last who knows how long, and see what worked, where, and in what conditions the water was in. I record everything. And this Steelhead season is kind of a wild variety, but I still can choose between 7 rigs, depending on how the fish are positioned in a drift, and what kind of water I will be fishing. You will stay on top of patterns, and that is key, be one step ahead. I attribute a lot of my personal success to keeping very concise notes, in my log books. Not necessarily to skill, or experience.
