We went camping up at Diamond Lake with Jared's family for the fishing derby. On Saturday, we got out on the water around 7AM. We didn't get any luck the day of the derby but decided to weigh in our biggest catches anyways. Our biggest was 17" 1.11lbs. Nothing close to get onto the boards. However, we had gone fishing this afternoon before breaking down camp and heading home. We decided to stay close to camp and fish in shallower water than Saturday. I got pretty tired of casting into the water but getting weeds on my line every time I reeled in. I decided to cast out again &within minutes I got nibbles. I decided to yank &BAM... A HUGE Rainbow! All 3 of us in the boat were pretty shocked at how big this fish was. My pole was completely bent &my reel kept clicking &my line kept dragging. Lol. Jared finally netted my fish &I couldn't believe how big my fish was! We had a guess that it was a good 5-6lbs. The fish didn't give any hard bites, just nibbles. He didn't put much of a fight up either. It only took about a minute or less to reel him in; Due to the fact that I'm not used to reeling in bigger fish like this one, haha. We ended up pulling up the anchor &bringing the boat back to camp. After packing up camp, we headed over to the resort to see if they could weigh my fish for me. A lot of people at the resort were surprised to see my big fish &asked what I caught it on &where I caught it. A guy that works at the resort asked if I wanted to weigh it &of course I said yes, haha. He told me if it's over 4lbs, I will get my picture taken &put on the wall in the resort as well as get put in the 4lb+ Club; Something new he said. The guy weighed my fish &it weighed 4.7lbs and it was 23 1/2 inches long! WHERE WAS THIS FISH YESTERDAY FOR THE TOURNAMENT?! I could've won 2nd place with my fish. Not too happy I caught him today however I'm not going to complain because he's the best/biggest fish I've caught to date 
Definitely looking forward to another trip for more fishing.
