Ice fishing ?

well,i have a couple ice fishing rods i use for trout(i know weird right?) for fun at lakes. but i wanted to test them out this winter on the ice. is there any places within and hour of dallas that i can ice fish at? thanks,

I don't know of any place in the coast range that gets cold enough for long enough to go ice fishing. Occasionally we get an extended freeze that will put a skin of ice over a pond or a small stream, but not enough to put any weight on. In Oregon you are going to have to get up into the high cascade lakes or go east of the mountains. Then there is the issue of getting to them with all the snow.
