So true. I make it a point to check in with my 93 year old mother often. She spent a lot of time on the boat, and landed many salmon. Last time she went out her and my Dad were in there 80s. Had an awesome day out of Newport with limits of silvers.

She has a bit of a problem remember when people stop by so I now take something over like home made pickles or canned salmon just to help remind her someone was there.

I am lucky as our place seems to be the hub of a lot of family activity. It helps that we live on a small farm with a large orchard and garden. Plenty of grand kids. Age five up to 25 coming and going all the time. A couple of them are will be learning how to fly fish this summer. They are looking forward to my lessons.

I wish mine were that close, all of them are in Eugene, except one who is in the AF in Germany. Kids grandkids, great grand daughters to young to drive, But the road only goes one way.. ...
