How to store your rods

I currently keep my rods in tubes but I feel like a Fly rod is a work of ark.The slender body of the rod. The beauty of the machined details in the reel. The bright color contrast of teh backing to fly line. I want to display these works of ark but how. My ceiling is only 8'6 so a vertical stand is out of the question. I dont really have anyplace 10' horizontally on teh walls. So I am down to celine racks but can find any that will fit a fly rod with teh reel attached.

So what do you guys do?

Man, you got "it" bad (no offense meant)!

When I was younger I use to display my rods horizontally on decorative wooden wall pegs, but that "need" has left me. My rods stay in their tubes in a hidden corner of the garage! The only time they are out of their tubes at home is to dry the rods & tubes after fishing.

i used to have my rods and reels and guns all hung up and displayed on the walls, along with all my mounted ducks and differant animal furs.... then i got married and now i have a 10x10 room for all of my stuff to be in, so needless to say everything doesn't get "displayed" anymore!:(:(:(

I hang the fly rods on the wall in "the fishing" room. Not so much for the looks, but more so I know where the darn things are. Other rods I hang from the ceiling with rod holders I made. If I put them in the closet they get lost, not to mention there is no light in the closet and I'm deathly afraid of the dark. I use those fancy round steel rod holders to mount the rods to the wall, some people call them nails.;) Oh my wife lets me do anything I want to in the house, just as long as I do it outside.

When my wife finds here camera I will post a pic of my Toon storage system. Been trying to figure out how to store the pontoons without taking too much space but not fold them.

That old Medalist would be from his Blue Period where as teh Trion would have to be one of his great nudes

I keep mine in a piece of schedule 80 pipe. I have a cap on one end and a slip by female adaper with a threaded plug on the other. Sports Authority in Beaverton has two horizontal rod racks on clearance 8$ right now.

I have an old bamboo rod that is a "work in progress" that I have above the window similar to OTF but mine is more diagonal. Just use a few small nails to keep it straight. They look good that way.

I should have used sche 40 or something lighter than 4 inch pipe. It is a brute to haul around.

Also, I have my pipe decorated with stamps and stickers from different places it has been. Kind of a colorful reminder of where I have been.
