Hello everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself as I am new to this forum.

My goal for 2022 is to get back into the fishing hobby that I started a few years ago. It started with shellfish harvesting (crab, clams, mussels, crawfish), then developed into trout fishing at Hagg Lake, surf perch, and shad fishing on the Columbia.

In 2020, I wanted to get into bigger fish such as steelhead/salmon, but of course... (gestures around).

I've spent time reading the forum but never got the courage to really put myself out there on here.

My collection of rods now includes a couple setups for trout, setup for salmon/steelhead, and a surf rod that I've only used for a crab snare.

Looking forward to interacting with everyone!

I take it you're up north so I can't help much but welcome to the forum. I hope 2022 brings many big fish!

If you mention where you are from and where you'll likely try for salmon and steelhead I'm sure someone would offer up some advice.

Oh that's a great point!

I'm in the Beaverton area, and was looking into the Wilson.

@atrainexpress503 Welcome to OFF.

The Wilson is a great bet for winter steelhead. It's also heavily fished. But that's all I know.

Good luck and tight lines, TD
