When I was a kid growing up in Pittsburgh several small lakes had daily and weekly carp contests. I fished them a bit my brother liked to do it a lot. Some of the folks had some pretty nice rod holder set ups, but yours looks as nice or nicer than any I have seen! Did you make that or is it a commercial product?

It's made in overseas the parts are interchangeable. By next year I hope I will have one of these set ups.

Dang, that one on the left is just incredible. I assume it lights up (and probably makes a sound) when you get a bite. If the fish swims to you does it also detect a slackening of the line?

Yeah it does detect slack bites that's what a hanger/swinger is for it is used for line tension behind the bite alarm that will make it so you detect slack bites.
