Good morning on the Alsea.

Caught these this morning. Saw a bunch jump and marked quite a few with the fish finder.

Sweet nooks! were they both males? the pic is a little bit small to tell. I haven't had the chance to fish for salmon on that beautiful river yet, but anyway congrats and nice first post!! Keep up the good work.

They both were males. 17.5 and 15.5 pounds.

Yes the alsea is my home water we had a small cabin about a mile below Missouri bend. I would spend all summer there and every august we would get get the crap scared out of us by a random pod of boot lookin chinook staging up to spawn in our liil gravel bank as i got older the salmon runs got more intense every year. just goes to show how well salmon can do on there own without salmon hatcheries and a lot of riparian restoration. Glad to see a river that can sustain its self and produce quality food. Dont get me started on daddies in tha trap.
