Hi Im new to this site. Age 65 and have not fished for years and years, and never in Oregon. In the 70s lived near Hat Creek Calif by Bing Crosbys ranch and fished shasta and lassen counties for miles and miles as a kid. Ive never caught a golden trout. Im wheel chair bound now but can go a 100 or so feet on crutches before needing a rest. Ive read they are in the state. Any chance for me in this condition? I cant hike to remote places.

Welcome to OFF.

I've lived here for almost 60 years; and have never even heard of anyone catching Goldens. Let alone seeing any. So I don't even know where to find 'em.

May I suggest calling/emailing ODFW? Someone there could probably guide to places that you could try.

Only area I know in Oregon with golden trout is the Eagle Cap Wilderness.
That's exactly what I was thinking (Eastern Oregon mountains). Which would also likely indicate a long and strenuous hike, to get to the fish.
