Anyone use these? I feel they look more realistic thany the Elk Hair.

I haven't yet, tied some up for this summers trout season though. Excited to try them.

That is not the best pic I really like them. The dark brown in a #16 I feel is perfect for the Big D caddis hatch I saw late last summer.

What's the antenna? Is it stems of the elkhair?

The Recipe I have calls for stripped brown hackle stem.

goddard caddis is a great fly i have caught tons of fish on that pattern,,be sure to carry the shake dry flaotant cause when they get wet and soaked afer a while they tend to just drowned

Good point my friend. Its either carry a floatant or spend your day false casting your arse off drying that fly out.


Tip o' the day. If you tie this pattern using thread wax on your tying thread, the water will not penetrate the thread. It will give the fly a longer time on the water before the deer, or elk hair become saturated. :)
