Garibaldi halibut

The Oregon all depth season started this last Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The forecast was looking very good in the long range forecasts and we all held our breath each day as the weather page loaded.

The forecast held but the fishing was slow out of Garibaldi. We managed 50% Friday and Saturday. We fished two bait rigs with threaded black label herring, and a bit of salmon. The herring had the majority of bites.

In Oregon you must release lings on all depth days. We had two take an elevator ride only to be released.

Good times.

If'n I'm not mistaken, that's only if you have any halibut on board.

Great day for you guys.
