Found hogtimus prime today!

O. mykiss
went out with one of my best friends and flogged nearly fishless water up until this beast decided he was going to kill the intruder in his lay! After two 30+ yard blistering runs and chasing him through a boulder patch we brought the beast to hand for a couple quick shots. Such an awesome fish!

NICE! That is a beast! What did he bite?

He took a 4.5" pink worm under a float. Second I set the hook I started yelling at my buddy "big fish!" The power was instantly obvious. He took off on the fastest 30 yard run I have ever seen. He was hooked in a boulder garden and I was using 8lb Ultragreen so it was a wild ride running around trying to keep him from breaking the leader. After ripping off 30 yds twice he settled down on the bottom in gin clear water and just held for 5 minutes, he was so powerful he could do whatever he felt like. A fish I will never forget, truly awesome animal!
