Drove south from Eugene to see Oregon Tool and Supply, the plan was to then check out the Umpqua and maybe bank fish a couple spots.

I stopped at Ford's Pond in Sutherlin instead and caught 4 in about 2 hours, all really healthy chunky fish, im assuming the lake is high at the moment and my first pattern was pretty successful so stuck with it, definitely need muck Boots to fish it right now.

Anyone know what the big concrete pad is from? Something industrial I'm assuming, protected 1/4" steel edge all the way around it and plenty of old anchors.

Might come back this way tomorrow, hit this in the morning and Eltkon in the afternoon.

Great report! Awesome to be doing so well in February on Bass. I don't think that I have ever caught a bass in OR in December, January or February and here you are killing it!!

Bass gotta eat! Lol

I throw a frog year round as well, surprisingly done pretty well.

I remember an episode of bill dance fishing where he was throwing a buzzbait onto the shelf of ice around the lake, and dragging it off to fish it back, even in iced water bass were still hitting topwater!

Don't have the patience. lol

Fast moving baits with lots of thump, brought a lot of stuff from Florida that a lot of people don't seem to throw up here.

If someone wants to fish this lake and you have a boat, let me know and I'll throw down for gas/haul it down there from Eugene.

Looking for a kayak or canoe at the moment, nothing too great out there though

Fords pond is a old log dump if the concrete slap you are referring to is up the little dirt next to 38 it was the dump station. There used to be a big A frame structure as well.

Hit the water later than expected, out there about 10am and got off at 7pm

Caught 8 bass and lost a crappie at the boat!

I was was another guy and his 2 sons, they also all got on the board! I think they hit 6 total between them

Does anyone know anything about the pond to the south?

Is it part of Ford's? Half of it is fenced?

Another great looking trip, you are killing it in your kayak!

Thanks for posting all your trips. It is helping me keep my sanity right now.

Still locked up eh?

No interest in largemouth to the south? I've been thinking about heading to Albany, seems pretty pressured though.

I second what @bass said. I’d be interested in how you do around Albany if you go. I’m locked down until more ramps open up.

As far as I know it is part of Fords Pond also. The shores of most of it are bordered by private property, except for the land bridge/dike, hence the fences. I believe the only way to access the southern shores is by boat or by wading.

Same here @fromthelogo , I could go fishing but I don't want to deal with crowded ramps and launches at this point in time. I have almost gone a couple of times but each time decided it is not worth the risk to my family.

Everything I have read has indicated that the ramps around here are insanely crowded right now because a bunch of them are closed. If all the ramps and parks where I like to launch were open I think I would likely head out. Until that happens I will likely just stay at home and read @NKlamerus reports :)

Missed 3 tonight.....out of practice, and I didn't have the trailer hook on!

One good connect, he really wanted it! Also peed all over my kayak....

Fished from 2pm-6pm, caught 5 fish between the two of us

Buddy caught his first ever largemouth, 3lbs 9oz, then caught a smaller one later on a topwater frog!

I caught 2 on a frog and one on a spinnerbait

The lake is low? Must be lack of rain? It's a weedy mess, what would usually be sub surface is now mats in the top

Cloudy and overcast, wind started blowing about 15mph out of the NW
