After a long spring with nothing to show, I finally got my first ever nook. I took my dad who is visiting from Virginia, out to the coast on thursday to try for some springers. We took our time getting out there and were on the river around 7:30 or so. I had a fish on for 20 seconds or so about a half hour of fishing but it shook the hook. We took a break for some lunch still having caught nothing and feeling a bit frustrated as we had been seeing fish flash and jump all morning. Well a few hours later I finally and had a good takedown and set the hook and she was not getting off this time. Got the fish to the bank after a solid fight and felt way better as I had to release one Tuesday that was foul hooked. My dad did not get one but it i let him fight the one tuesday until we could release it and we also had booked a guide for the next day up in the Astoria area for both our first times sturgeon fishing. All in all could not have asked for a better day out on the water with my dad
