... don't you love 'em! I got this bad boy on my first cast into the Sandy this morning. Showin' a little color, but still fought like a SOB.

Tules are a type of chinook that generally spawn lower in a river system, this is why they are so dark when they enter the river. That fish in the pic probably hasn't been in the river long, even though it's very dark, as opposed to the normal fall chinook in many systems which would still be chrome bright. The sandy has both tules and brights, and there are lots of them this year.
