Evinrude cutting out

My fishing partner has a 18' Willy's flatbottom Legend with a 2012 90 HP Evinrude E-tec jet motor. Great setup, but when we get planed and cruising, his motor sputters and stops after a minute or two. We thought it might be not getting enough water to cool it, and so a temperature sensor was killing it. We let it sit for 10 seconds, fire it up, and it's good for another minute or so, then it happens again. Water pump was replaced, so that's probably not it.

I was wondering if anyone else experienced this, and if you'd found an answer.

stuff in the fuel system. check carb float/bowl, clean out or replace fuel filter. last rebuild carb. good luck Tony

Clean injectors, Check fuel pump pressure, Clean fuel, Check oil level, over heating is problematic on these and could result in valve problem.

Pull your plugs first they will tell you a story if you see a plug that's cleaner or white depending on the plugs it takes then you have a lean condition clogged injector possibly how old are the plugs this might also be your problem or a worn damaged spark plug wire those might just need replacing good luck
