you probably could have caught that fish without any gear whatsoever; just a pair of slowish hands would do it I suppose.

I know u got some nicer ones than that, I really want to fish that stream for salmon. I went there once on a school field trip and saw tons! But I am still unclear on the regs for there and where u can and can't fish

That was in December. I was fishing for steelhead and there was about 20 coho there that were REALLY active. Like they would eat your wieght, litteraly eat jigs that were sitting on the bottom, Chase sandshrimps to the top of the water and jump to try to get them. Its a lot of fun.

but basically a quicker death sentence for an already stressed and dying fish trying to spawn...
