East Lake 2013

I will be going to East this week for the first time.
Will be renting a boat (mine isn't ready yet).

How did this weekend go?
I have heard the success rate up there is pretty good right now...

This has me confused. Why would kokes and rainbows be holding aroun a hot spring, where presumably the water's a lot warmer than they like? I don't doubt the reports, it just seems counterintuitive to me...

Because that is where the insect hatches occur, especially early in the year.
I fish East a lot and there are always a lot fly fishermen near the hot springs.

That's true. I got my report first hand from my uncle who fished there last weekend. I'm puzzled there were no browns in his report.

Hitting East Lake in two weeks and after getting skunked yesterday at Wickiup, a plan is in order

Went yesterday and managed one hit while trolling an F5 frog flatfish.

The wind was brutal and made trolling difficult.

Unlike Friday, the fish were 8 ft. or deeper.
