Went out today morning trying to catch salmon, got on the water around 6am started fishing at 6 30 , saw plenty of fish but had a hard time getting their attention. I tried spinners,corkie,roe,Jigheads. I caught and released a wild steelhead on a marabou jig . It was my first summer steelhead. Good size and good fight but that fish had multiple cuts . Kept fishing it was quite windy , missed probably around 4 fish not sure if I wasn't setting the hook hard enough or what the issue was . But finally hooked and landed a pretty dark hen hatchery fish . Took it home since it had eggs. Pretty good day slow but still managed to have fun .
