Has anyone lately fished the Depoe Bay area for coho, where seems to be best.

I was out of Depot Bay for 7 hours yesterday chasing salmon, they are very widely scattered there right now, only a few of the guides/PBs were hooking any, most were focusing on bottom fishing. not even a take down for me. but that could change quickly, who knows. bottom fishing was pretty good according to reports.

I had what I think was about a 5' salmon shark swim alongside my kayak (10' away) for a minute or 2 about 5 miles off shore, so that was cool.

ocean salmon chomp down on just about anything, Brad's cutplugs and spinners with hoochies are popular with other kayakers I know, actual herring or anchovies are great but not really required. find some salmon, pull something interesting past them, they hit it. lol
