Yeah, I caught it on tonight's news cast too. He was only 59 and got trapped under the boat. No tellin' if a life jacket would have helped; but they sure cannot hurt. People please wear one when you're in a boat. Wouldn't you want to return home safely to your family? Sadly, he isn't returning home to his.

RIP brother.

Wear the PFD

Wear the PFD

I am sorry to hear news like this. It can be very depressing.
I was in Tacoma last week and stopped at Cabelas to buy an auto/manual inflatable life vest. I'm 60 now and I will be wearing it anytime I'm wading the river or in the boat. I recognize that I'm just not as nimble as I was even five years ago. It was the best $100 I've spent in years and my wife agrees.

Cabela's: Cabela's Guardian™ Series Essential 2500 Auto/Manual Inflatable PFD

Be safe people,

GD

I think that is a great point GD we should all try to save up for one of those.

Maybe we could get a bulk rate discount through the fourm. I would have ordered it online but I didn't think about it ahead of time and stopped after driving by the store on the freeway.

There is a post on the Oregon Westfly forum from one of the survivors of this tragic accident. Evidently Warren was trapped under the driftboat, and a life jacket probably would not have saved his life. Not meant to say that you should not wear one anytime you are on the water, and that is the first point the survivor mentioned.

A heart wrenching tragedy to hear about. I only hope that his family & friends can find solace in the fact that Warren was doing what he loved to do.

My heart & prayers go out to the family & all that knew him.
