Beach fishing

Fished a couple of Puget Sound and Hood Canal beaches this weekend.
Ended up with one coho and a few searun cutthroat.
I saw a few early chums jumping but no love from them. After the rain this week we'll see a lot more of them.
A few pics from this weekend.

My brother in law did that last year. Sounds like a lot of fun. He was on private property. Is public access easy to find?

There are quite a few public access areas on the sound and canal.

Nice fish! Is the salt open year round for c&r cutts in Washington or does it close at the end of October as well?

Mutiny,
Searun fishing is open year round in Puget Sound and the Canal. You are correct, it is strictly catch and release on them up here in the salt.
We are coming into prime time and certain beaches will fish well throughout the winter into early spring.

Cool! Any good areas on the Olympia end of the canal?

Pretty good day today on the canal as the searun cutts were on their fall munch.
I ended getting fish on four patterns today. A Fish Mask baitfish pattern, small surface popper, bead head polar chenille bugger and a peach bunny marine worm.
A few pics from today.
