Those are Smelt and judging by there behavior I'd say they are spawning.

I live to far inland. I never get to see any of the good stuff. I've never seen em stack up like that.

That is a pretty awesome spectacle. My step Grandma use to live at the coast. She would always ask me to catch her smelt to cook. Never did and have never tried it but I head it can be used for bait. Thanks for the video.

I live on this river it is a lot of fun. The river is always loaded with some kind of run. Salmon, Steelhead, Harvest trout, Sturgeon, Smelt
