Anybody use jigs with the 60 degree eye?

We got a call today from a guy in Idaho who is looking for steelhead jigs with the 60 degree eye. I think they're just tying marabou jigs on 'em. The thought being that there is a better chance of hookup with the wider angle between the eye and the hook.

Has anybody hear of this and/or try this style of jig for steelies?

I just picked some up on ebay, Mustad #4. I'm sure you can find bigger sizes if you need.

I've been using the 60 degree jig hooks for about 5-6 years now. It's all I use for my personal steelhead jigs.

Do you feel you get a better hookup rate?

Can I ask you if you had to modify a mold to make them or you know of a mold that exists? I might add them to our line of lead-free jigs at Green Tackle.
