This next week may get them snapping on shallower lakes and ponds.

Yup. Temps in the 70's will warm the water up, and get 'em active.

Don't know what it is about those crappie but I love fishing for them. I usually make a trip or 2 over to Prineville Reservoir and/or the Snake but have never got one close to that one.
Didn't even go last summer with Covid and all, but all vaccinated up now and will be traveling more this summer.

How long was that crappie? A beaut! What lures do you use for pan fish?

Probably cross off Prineville Res and Ochoco Res for the next two or three years without a lot of winter snow in the mountains. drought is killing them over here.
