Any bass???

Hey Guys, I'm moving to Eugene/Springfield here in the Fall so my fiance can attend UofO. I visted my buddy in Lowell and fished from the bank where the covered bridge is. I'm not much of a trout fisherman, more for the bass. Just wondering if Dexter or Lookout Point is any good for bass. Also, driving on 58, right before the turn to go to Lowell, I noticed a pond along the highway. Its looks like it could hold some bass. Any info if that pond has bass and, is there access to the bank or is it private property? Thanks if you reply, and don't be shy, let me know of other places to catch some bass.

Matt

are you refering to when you have dexter on ur left and the "pond" to your right... i hear thats the spot for bass. I have seen LMB in dexter around the covered bridge, Also I would try cottage grove reservoir and Dorena reservoir for bass as well.

If you are traveling 58 from Pleasant Hill towards Lowell, its on the right, a nice green pond. Its looks "BASSY", its something I will definitely go fish if its not private property.

even if its private property the road bed is public right of way and should allow you to fish it... but i do not believe its private

I'm pretty sure it's not private. There's a small parking spot at the east end just off the highway. I've never fished it but have always wanted to. I've heard there's both smallies and largies in there. Good luck!

A few years ago I fished that "Pond" with a friend in our float tubes. We saw big fish jumping like crazy and couldn't resist. We caught the heck out of a bunch of Northern Pikeminnows that ran up to 16" on curlytail jigs. They were feeding on black flying ants. The people driving by were slowing down as we lipped these nice sized fish out of the water, semi trucks laying on the air horns, etc. It was a blast. Next day we went by on the way to Hills Creek, and there was a guy out there in his float tube! HEHEHEHE that was fun!
