You may recall we were invited to watch a Webinar by T. Brinks in the Bass fishing Section of OFF a while back. Since then I’ve done some searches to find some information worth sharing.

The webinars are a product of Navionics; the folks that brought us the Geonav which was the first off the shelf, made for consumer, navigation charting system. I don’t know this except it is what is stated on the companies “About us” page on their Website.

I know the name as I was introduced to Navionics when I bought a Lowrance Elite-4 HDI depth sounder. If you have most any brand of newer fish finder there is a good chance there was a pamphlet with your unit describing all the various lake and marine electronic charts you can purchase to make your particular depth finder more useful.

From the Navionics Website “Navionics has the world’s largest database of marine and lake charts, covering the salt waters of the entire planet as well as tens of thousands of lakes and rivers. Many of these charts have been developed by way of Navionics’ proprietary surveys done both in the field and with remote sensing such as satellite imagery and airborne laser scanners”.

After you get on the Website if you’ll look to the very bottom right you’ll see a link to Webinars. Click that link and you’ll see past recorded Webinars as well as information on upcoming ones. At the bottom of page 2 is the Webinar mentioned above, by our OFF member Tyler Brinks entitled “Prefishing using Technology” other Webinars I have not yet watched look very informative as well; find the time and look it over, maybe even watch a Webinar; it’s all free and worth every penny.
