    Fishing at Detroit Lake

Water is not all the way down to winter level but it is low. We had to use the winter ramp.

    Fishing at Detroit Lake

Well now. Went to Detroit today and it was a beautiful morning. We had my friends boat and when we put it in the water, both motors started right up. Motored to the area we wanted to fish, turned off the big motor and attempted to start the trolling motor. And attempted, and attempted and...

    Fishing at Detroit Lake

Thanks for the info. It should help. I like wedding rings and Kokobow spinners maybe even better. Hadn't thought of the corn so better pick some up in the morning. Thanks again playhooky...

    Fishing at Detroit Lake

A friend and I are heading for Detroit Lake in the morning, fishing from a boat. Heard a rumor that the Kokes are at about 25 feet so we're looking for them, although we'll settle for bows. Has anyone been there recently and if so, what kind of luck did you have?

    Salmon fishing at Yaquina Bay

Raincatcher, I doubt I'll fill my freezer but I do hope to get back to the coast again for another trip.

    Salmon fishing at Yaquina Bay

I don't know how far into the tidewater the fish have gone. I do know that there were boats well above Sawyers Landing and around the bend toward Toledo.

    Salmon fishing at Yaquina Bay

A friend and I spent a couple of days fishing at Yaquina Bay, just above Sawyers Landing. I landed two Silvers and Bob got one. I'm sure He would have got his second one had the trolling motor not quit running. There was a ton of fish in the bay. I'm going to try to post a photo but not sure...

    Kokanee on Detroit Lake

I agree with the response from Rogerdodger. I haven't been to the lake for two or so weeks but last time up I had out 4 oz of lead and 70 pulls. When I go again I will probably use 5oz. Good luck.

    Kokanee on Detroit Lake

I'm no expert at the fine points of Detroit either but I keep fishing and I keep learning. I'm guessing that's the best we can do.

    Kokanee on Detroit Lake

I've not caught any of the Chinookanee (I believe that's what they're being called) but the guy who owns the local sportsman's store told me he knows someone who has been catching a few. My fish finder has been showing me some quite large fish down deep that may well be them.

    Kokanee on Detroit Lake

Hey Troutfisher. Actually, I do have a pair of downriggers but they moved to Idaho with my brother about 4 months ago. So, what I am doing is using a 4 oz lead ball dropped down about 4 or 5 inches from the rudder on my flasher assembly followed by a Kokabow spinner or Wedding Ring capped off...

    Kokanee on Detroit Lake

Fished Detroit today and no Kokanee. Did get two limits of rainbow but it took the better part of 5 hours to get them. Fished both sides of the island and the south shore from across from the island down lake for about a mile. All of the fish came from the area around the island with most of...
