    Three Rivers snaggers

Yes he is young because him and I a little over a year ago was planning a drift fishing trip. Then something came up and I was off the forum pretty close to a year. Now now back on the forum in that short amount of time. He believes every body draft fishing is a flosser. When just a year ago he...

    Three Rivers snaggers

If your referring to my last post ? It wasn't aimed at you whatsoever. I just recently got back on the forum and I don't even know who you are to make any judgement calls about you. So I apologize if you felt I did. That post was intended for who I quoted. I remember back a year or so a young man...

    Simple question

Lol imo snagging a fish is done when a fish is visable and you intently cast over the fish get you hook close to it and purposely attempt to set the hook into the fish. Now flossing... Is done by accident.. ya ya I know your odds are better when your leader is longer. But that's not the point...

    Three Rivers snaggers

1 I've fished with a lot of people on this forum. And if the situation calls for a 7 foot leader that's what is used. 2. There isn't enough osp officers as it is. To respond to a call saying people are fishing with a 7 foot leader. Because its not against the law. And they don't have time to...

    Three Rivers snaggers

The only way I can describe it is.... Invision a kid pulling a kite and the kid is just skipping along because there isn't enough wind. The kite is flying almost directly above his head. ( let's call this the slow drift with 2 feet of leader)now the kid takes off on a Sprint the kite now is...

    Three Rivers snaggers

what's wrong with a 7 foot leader and just a corky. You say 2 feet is all ya need? What was the water conditions? Current speed? Depth? Visibility? Or does that not matter to you and you just use a 2 foot leader no matter what? Sorry to be somewhat sarcastic. But I would like to know your...

    3 things I did wrong

I have to agree. I don't normally fish hardware much but at times I did I've tied a blue fox directly to my 50# xp braided and have had steelhead bang et with bad intentions. I remeber back 25 years ago there might of been maybe 10th different lines to choose from. Maxima being the top of the...

    Flossing!

I use a leader any where from right on the 18" mark and have went as long as 7 1/2 feet. In my expeirience I've learned that the river has several different speeds. Water clarity changes from day to day. But the thing that doesn't change is the strike zone. So if the water is running clear and...

    Flossing!

that's awesome. A couple years back I lost a sinner on the sandy river in a coho's mouth and two weeks later I was fishing with bigdog about a half mile downriver. From where I originally lost it and bigdog walks over to me and held his hand out and dropped it into my hand. I couldn't believe...

    Flossing!

When you say "just a smidge above there heads" that would be called, the strike zone. If your in the strike zone with a fly. And I'm drift fishing a corkie and yarn in the strike zone. There is a chance the line will floss the fish. The way I see it is if you can't see the fish in the drift and...

    Flossing!

Very well put. Imo the the whole flossing issue came about from the people to intimidated to stand shoulder to shoulder in a combat situation and ended up going home skunked. So the excuse was beings they got skunked , whoever caught fish had to be doing something wrong.
