    Fish finder advice

Looking for a new fish finder without breaking the bank. Fishing Willy, CR and occasionally bays. Would like the option to be able to Kokanee fish with it. 5" screen is big enough. Few questions - Chirp? Down imaging? GPS/Chart plotter or is a Navionics app on my phone good enough...

    Trolling direction

I'm new to trolling herring on the Willamette for springers. Question (maybe stupid)....... why do people troll in both directions (at least when I'm out) in the M channel or the main river? Don't you want to troll downstream unless the the tide is so strong it negates the river's current...

RD, Does that electric time your getting include some areas with uphill trolling, back trolling or mostly with current?

    Kicker advice

I might try to rebuild the carbs and see if that cures the idle issue.

    Kicker advice

I have an older 16' Deep V Lowe with a 30 horse Yamaha 2 stroke. I dont think it will idle down enough to troll (willamette/cr). It's a pretty light boat (dont want to much weight on the transom). Probably being be a starter boat for a year or two I dont want to break the bank. Few...

Huge thanks Bass. Worked that harbor for a couple of hours. 3 landed, 2 missed and lots of smiles.

    Spinner/spoon question, re: steelhead

Chez, Thanks for the post. I'm trying to master this technique with limited success so far. I read Herzog but on the water it seems I can't do some of the things he talks about. Specifically lifting and dropping the spoon with rod angle. Most success I've had is casting upstream and fishing...

Bass, I live in Tigard. Sounds like the Willamette is my best bet especially while I get used to handling the boat.

    Advice getting started

Hi guys, Just got a small boat (16') and would like to get into a little winter sturgeon fishing with my son. I've got all the usual salmon set up. I don't need any secret spots or anything. Just a few questions. General areas? Structure to look for? Safest areas or things to beware of this...

    1st boat advice

We took it out on the water. No leaks. 30 horse Yamaha ran great. Boat very clean. It has a bracket for an electric motor and one for a kicker. Walk through aluminum seeting with storage and live well. Lowrance fish finder with GPS. Columbia anchor system. Bimini top. $3500 Decent price?
