Sorry for the late update but Unfortunately it's a sad one. Boat was fine in the river no worries there. The sad part is we only landed one fish and had 5 bites in an 8 hour day. Guess I have some learning to do on river bass... We started behind ash island and had a few top water strikes but no...
Thanks bass I'm planning on dropping first light tomorrow morning at Rogers and heading upstream. Maybe going to the Yamhill mouth and back. If anyone's out there tomorrow me and my brother in a black and gold Steelers boat give me a shout!
It's a new (to me) boat but the finder says my top speed is only about 8mph. We will give it a go. On that note up or down river for better bass fishing?
Never been in a boat on the Willamette and was wondering if I dropped in in Newburgh and fished that stretch of it would my little 14 foot boat with a Honda 75 on the back be enough to poke around/fight current? Hoping to go slay bass on Monday?
So my wifes family has been going to prineville res. For a long time and never had success fishing... Im pretty sure there is decent bass fishing there but ive never had a chance to fish there. Would like to be able to show them some fish this year. Were going mid August and I'm wondering if...
Guess I should clarify I do fish salmon steelhead I just know so many people that have lived here their whole lives and almost exclusively fish for them. They may just be meat hunters and not truly enjoy the act of fishing...
I have caught 2 smallmouth that I have had to weight to check if they were state records (both the same at 7 lb 12 oz. ). And 1 10+ largmouth. I've never caught a steelhead or salmon Worth accurately putting on a scale...
I would not take a bass over a 20 lb. Steelhead... What I'm saying is I've had days where I catch 50 lbs of bass in 4 hours and way to many skunks out steelhead fishing...
Dnr? Odfw?(oregon department of fish and wildlife) yea the only stocking I'm aware of inn oregon is the garbage rainbow as I like to call them. I guess your are right though maybe I shouldn't being attention to the untapped resource that is beautiful bass...
Is the reason people in oregon concentrate their efforts into fishing trout salmon or steelhead and not into bass just the abundant amour of those and not bass? I think pound for pound and quantity of fish I'll fish bass anyday
I know the tributary is open. I also know nobody else will get access to this gate. I didn't end up doing it I went to the Trask sour chinook instead...it was dead.
I have a code to a gate on the coast range to a fairly small Creek loaded with fish... I want to fish it in the morning but I know there will be hunters parked there and walking in...how angry or jealous do you think they will be?
