It has been very slow this year compared to last. Caught a few 14 inchers 3-4 weeks ago but not much since. Last night we only caught three smalls. The water is way higher than last year at this time.

Rock fish was hot today, yellow buoy past the bar. Not sure what the area is called, but I call is success! Hope tomorrow is as productive.

Any fishing reports out of Coos Bay? Thinking about doing a mixed bag trip next weekend for crab, bottom fish, and salmon. Just wondered how it has been down there. Thanks Dan

Roger, as always thank you! I just need to upgrade my rods. The ones I have don’t see to have enough back bone for this style of trolling.

Sorry if this question has been asked before, but what rods do people run trolling for salmon?

Finally made it out there today. "Accidentally" crossed an Oregon bar for the first time. Not as scarry as I've read, but when the ocean is glass, what whould I expect. lol It seemed slow, but admittedly I am a rookie. Only caught a flat fish on a squid. Can't wait for next trip!!

That's a bummer. I might give it a try this weekend anyways.
