who knew that pot smoking was so popular in Florence?...

[IMG2=JSON]{"data-align":"none","data-size":"full","src":"http:\/\/i.imgur.com\/voBeQQR.jpg"}[/IMG2]

or from our good friend Mr. Taggart: "I think you boys have smoked enough"...

or 'who decided to hot box Florence and why wasn't I invited?"...lol

PS- salmon fishing is slow slow slow....

Thanks for the update rogerdodger :thumb: I've been wondering how things how been. Have you been marking fish, and are there many boats up river? Or are most still towards the mouth? Thanks sir!

Pretty smoky but what a great looking day to fish from the Hobie.

The smoke is so thick it made the water mellow!

I was working in the country yesterday and the smoke was so thick driving was like going through a fog. Glad we got some coastal winds today to clear it up a bit............till this weekend with mid 90's and smoke again :sad:

You think it's popular in Florence, try Eugene :peace:

Someone posted in another form that a dredge was working the river at Florence and had the water all churned up.

exactly, as any decent chinook fisherman could easily see, in that first image in this thread, I am doing that very important thing: 'getting a good ROLL on the herring'...not too tight, not too loose...lol

It's a shame that we don't have an emoticon, with a headband and a tie-dyed shirt. :yikes:

Well...that's one way, to smoke your fish! Not to mention, rolling your own.

agreed, we saw a few netted today and had a take-down that didn't stick. the run feels late but this is actually normal for the relatively short Siuslaw river....nice fish Gary.

38 inch with the typical Siuslaw girth weighed 21 lbs on that scale at the cleaning station looks bigger that.I am going to check that scale one of these days! Siuslaw fish sure do have good genetics they have certain full fat look to them!

I finished a job early today and since I was in Thurston of course I had to do a little fly fishing on the Mac. Landed several cutties which was nice instead of hooking into a bunch of pellet heads.

The smoke was as bad as it's been today, just awful, big turnaround since yesterday!

Oh man I drove by there but there was no vehicle, it was in the afternoon so I guess I missed you. I haven't drifted all year in my toon or otherwise, bummed :sad:

There is still time though, this is favorite time of year to fish for trout!
