Default I walked to the bottom of the hill and..

casted a orange egg pattern jig around in the little 1 acre pond on my property for about an hour. released three and these two over achievers were hooked in the gills, so they are becoming trout chowder this evening..

It was hailing and raining and sunny and windy all in the same hour!

Thumbs up Worth the walk...

Worth the walk....I'd say so. Nicely done..................and no fuel used. A green catch...

Thanks Troutski! Dinner was GREAT also. stuffed them with bacon and diced onions and smoked them on the traeger. Then we pulled all the bones out and mixed the meat into a casserole type thing instead of chowder.
It's alot of fun having a little pond of your own just a few acre walk away.
Theres mostly bluegill in my pond though, there's one bass, and several trout.

The trout without the spots in the pic above was a hen and had SUPER premature skeins/eggs developing. That means It's getting into spawning season in the stillwaters and the fish will get way hungry and territorial.

I didn't stock it, we bought the property thinking there was only one huge bass in there. There is only one bass, but there are a bunch of bluegill and some trout it in too.

I'd like to one day stock it but I would have to install screens and get a permit ect.

Trout stuffed with bacon is a regular thing aorund here! hope you enjoy it too.. who doesn't like bacon though.
