Had a few more bites after that but the little buggers ended up getting my bait and off the hook before I could get them in. Overall a good day. Looking forward to doing it again this weekend
Just because it's old school doesn't mean it doesn't work, more than likely it's the opposite of that where old school will almost always work and it's the new stuff that can be iffy.

I remember reading about the guy that invented the DareDevil Lure, he spent months on a secluded lake in Canada trying out different body styles and colors and finely came up with one that worked consistently. I still use the spoon today and it still works, along with the superduper and rooster tail. Over the years I have found old school is probably the best and the newer stuff is more geared to catch us rather than the fish...just my opinion.

Absolutely Troutski!

Though the funny thing is sometimes it pays to switch it up. Case in point being those new fangled chatterbaits that I've been using seem to be doing real well (well at least the few months ago when I was last out).

...even funnier though, I went out and got some after your Green Peter post with them and have never had a bump. I like how they cast and swim but just haven't had any action. Im still consistently throwing them with my other spinners though, hoping that one day they turn hot.

[quote=JBean;6293]The water is high, it's a bit murky but not too bad. They stocked it this week with legal size trout. I caught a bass about 3 weeks ago out there, surprised the poop outta me! It was great though. I haven't caught any bass since, but lots of trout. Power bait off the bottom with a bit of worm on the end has been gettin' 'em! They sell huge night crawlers at the Lake Stop store on the way to Hagg. We split them into two. Worth the trip for sure. They like orange, rainbow, and chartreuse power bait by the way. Good luck![/QUOTE

Walk up the Scoggins creek at hagg lake about a mile or so, bring a ultralight pole and black or brown 1/16oz roostertails you will catch small fish but you can get at least 50 or so a day no joke just hit every little hole.

If that's up where the creek is not part of the lake any more, I think it may be closed to fishing - not sure but something you may want to check lest some nice game warden hand you an expensive ticket!
If you mean the Soggins creek arm of the lake, then nevermind.
