Default Timber Lake

I went up past Estacada and checked out timber lake today 3/29/08. Its situated in a little school or job corps area with lots of activity going on around near you. We got there and the could see the fish rising out of the water so I threw a panther martin and realized the vegetation would prevent using any hardware correctly. I am sure if you used bait and bobber or some power bait you would kill them up there. It was cold and starting to snow so we left, all in all its not the kind of lake I enjoy fishing but a definite place to take it easy and still fish. Beware though its a smoking free zone and they do not permit smoking on the lake grounds.

Nice it looked like it would be good but there were only pockets of water that were not covered in vegetation. The fish up there looked real hungry and were jumping about I would have fished a little more but was all set on throwing some lures. I was only carrying my lure box and two poles for me and my wife. I met go back there sometime with the kids and see how a worm under a bobber does.

-cheers

Also it is a no racism area as well and the big sign lets you know it and you cant miss it and the no smoking sign going in the compund. The plan was to say I didnt know Yeah I know but man I love to have a smoke while on the water and yes it will kill me but Your time is so short on this world i might as well do whatever I like as long as you follow the ten commandments

When I was just a kid my father took me to the side and told me "son if you only remember one thing in this life remember this, never be a quitter" so I still have an ash tray in my boat. I don't smoke much at home the wife won't allow them in the house, but in my boat I am the captain....

I went to timber on Friday. Caught my limit in around two hours. I fished the divider between the two lakes. Lot of fish in there! A river Otter as well. Reel in Quick! Had fun and thought the lake was decent. I saw another no smoking students sign later. So maybe that is just for the students working the job core thing.
