Bassnut, where is CT, those initials don't ring a bell with me ? Ah, a mokai, thats the boat worth waiting for. I was lucky enough to drive Mokai's, and I must say even for a guy that's a bit top heavy like me not to mention a bit hesitant at a narrow boat, I am used to a 15' SmokerCraft Alaskan - it handles like a dream. Just a blast to drive. Tight lines and be safe on the water.

I'm in the New England, Suffield, Connecticut. I'm not to far from the Mass
Border. The Connecticut River is one great fishery. That smallmouth in my avatar is a 5.6lbs. I caught it on Mothers day last year. Well, I'll be checking this site out for sure, I'm going for my first steelie trip in September up in NY on the Salmon river. Hey who knows, I may fish out there someday. Tight lines |

I'd be very greatful for some info on your fish finder and rod holders. I am getting ready to go shopping to outfit my Mokai and could use some input.
Thanks. |

I was one of those slaves who worked too much and fished too little; now I am retired. For the last few years I have been practice fishing, that's where you get out and do everything except actually catch fish. This year the trout and steelhead are on notice in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and maybe British Columbia and Yellowstone.

will you be useing? Fly Rod, Spinning Rod or baitcaster? Maybe you might want to go the clip on type rod holder's. On my Wavewalker I have a Milk crate with 2" pvc pipes attached to it for my rod holders, and I use a clip on one too. I haven't been in a Mokai boat yet, (I'm gonna go demo one in the spring) so I don't know how you would place the flush mount holders. You don't want them to get in the way of storage and leg room I would think. Good luck, and show us some pictures when your done. Tight lines Yep, I am now semi retired and in all my spare time I fish. I live and breath fishing. Best Medicine in the World. Last edited by BassNut : 02-27-2007 at 06:07 AM. Reason: Retired! |
