Cool Green Peter in February. (Quite a few pics...)

Well, my trip to Green Peter wasn't exactly productive .....but the day was beautiful! Tried trolling some new gear i got at the sportsman show, some differnt colored wedding rings behind a flash lite trolling rig With Shrimp, Corn, and worms.....Really didn't have any fish showing up on the fish finder, had a few every now and then around 110-120 ft., the occasional fish at around 40-65. I just couldn't seem to find em. Even went down to the dam and tried buzz bombs and jigs, just wasn't seeing any fish.

I did however get some pictures of the PERFECT day for fishing. The water was like GLASS untill about 3:30! Wind did pic up later in the afternoon, and the usuall chop was on the water, but it was awesome for pretty much the whole morning and afternoon. The Thistle Creek ramp was the only place to put in, to get in to the parking lot and ramp, i had to use the 4x4. lots of snow left over from the plows pushing it off the road, but there were some nice tracks in the snow after you got over the snow bank. It was more like ice, but not too bad. The ramp was clear of any ice or snow, little frost first thing in the morning, but as soon as the sun hit it, it warmed right up. Hope you enjoy the pictures! Wish i could have had some fish in the cooler, but it was an awesome day anyhow!

I am surprised at the water level. Is it always that low going into spring? I would expect that toward the end of summer like at Hagg Lake. Does it get lower as the year goes on? Never been there myself.

It's actually up 20ft from 2 weeks ago. I get the impression they're in the process of filling it now, while also trying to leave some capacity to absorb any late winter storms+snow melt.

The trout should be really shallow, like less than 20 feet, and I have no idea where the heck the kokanee or chinook are hanging out at this time of the year. And even if you didn't find the fish, it looks like you got some nice pictures and at least had a beautiful day.

And one last thing, does your fish finder have a thermometer? If so what was the surface temp if you don't mind sharing?

No darn it, i wish it did, guess its time to upgrade! I'd assume it was around the low 40's?

Glad you guys like the pics, i'll also ad that it was warm enough for shorts and a T-shirt! that is untill you got in to one of the arms, and it felt like i was trolling in a walk-in freezer! I didn't know how it was gonna be so i brought plenty of layers!

If anyone is gonna be up that way, let me know, mabey we can get a group skunk effort going! haha
