Got a chance to get out with ol' mother nature this weekend so I decided to hit the middle Deschutes. I was hiking and fishing in the steelhead falls area, one of my favorites due to it's beautiful landscapes. I took some pictures with my cell phone on Saturday, then with my camera on Sunday. I'll see if I can attach them in this post.

So is the fish a cutthroat? What did you catch it on?

You're so lucky to live over there! I'd love to be able to go to the Desutes, Billy Chinook, Craine Prairie, East lake, Paulina Lake, Etc...any day of the week, without having to drive so far. Those places have to be the best fishing in the state. And, they're my favorite places to fish. The beauty of nature in that part of the state is outstanding. So many places to fish...so little time!!!

I admit I love to fish in Central Oregon but I don't think I could live over there...I can't handle the dryness, I must have moisture in my life - I love the rain. It is why I moved here in the first place. Like you said though the fishing is amazing, just take a drive on the Cascade Lakes Highway, it would take a life time just to explore and master those lakes, let alone the other 1000 lakes over there.
