Dicroic and my self made it to Waldo by sunrise, what a beautiful place. The water temp. was 49 at the ramp and the dock was iced over, the makins of a fine day. I would have preferred cloud cover but you can't have it all, Dicroic started of the day with a very nice Brookie...a very nice BROOKIE...(See pic) he continued to kick my butt the rest of the morning. He had the magic rod or lure and just couldn't be stopped. The weather was clear and cool most of the morning, around 10:30am it warmed up and the cold weather gear hit the bottom of the boat. We found the school of fish we were scouting for and anchored. The sunshine made the fish very shy and nervous, we had to stay pretty far away to keep from spooking them, a long cast was the tool for the day, I mean a very long cast. By the end of the day we had figured out how to catch one or two fish and move to another spot and try again. It was a great day in the mountains on a brisk fall morning, the scenery was spectacular to say the least. The water temp. finely made it to 51 degrees by mid day, and so clear you could see the weight on my anchor in 35 feet of water, what a place. Here are some pictures of the day and some of the fish, hope you enjoy them.
If you have never been to Waldo Lake you should make a trip this spring or summer to enjoy one of our states gems. Worth the trip just to see the color of the water. Chuck [IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG][IMG] [/IMG]

Those are some beautiful fish. Just awesome coloration and good size, too.

I thought it looked familiar. I rigged bunches of them when I worked at the boat shop. Very familiar.

Thanks for the report and the photos- even though rain is predicted, it is reports like yours that keep me returning to try over and over again.
