Default Breitenbush river report.

Spent the day fishing Breitenbush river with the family Tuesday the 15th. Great weather great fishing and great company! The river is running very hard and cold for this time of year. Most of our usual spots did not produce fish, but with the efforts of a ten year old and a 7 year old fishing every inch of the river, we soon found em! Had plenty of action all day with enough fish for a nice BBQ at lunch and plenty for the smoker. I think the fishing will be good all summer and the camp ground was nearly a ghost town.

If you have never been fishing above Detroit then you should also try the N.Santiam. Just drive another 10-15 south of the town of Detroit. I've had better luck there than at Breitenbush.

By the way nice job puddle on the successful day and great family fun.

Mcmudpuddle,

Great job! I have just bought a smoker, and only have a ran it once. I usually just fish for trout and kokanee. Do you have any special ways to smoke them? Should I bast them in something before I smoke them? And for how long? Thanks and hope to hear back from you soon!
