Default Fishing Report

Has anyone been up to Timothy Lake lately? I'm thinking about taking the boat and kids next weekend. Looking for a report.

Went up today...18 inch brookie trolling by the dam (on an pink/purple 1.5" Apex) and a couple of miniature kokanee. Seemed to be better than most of the others fishing today from the conversation at the boat ramp. Pretty slim pickins.

I'm heading up there in the morning for 3 days and I was wondering if kokanee can be caught from a float tube? or from the bank? I've only heard of people catching them while trolling usually using a downrigger. Am I better off limiting my efforts to the trout?

You could try jugging for them, or casting jigs/spoons for them. I have done very well casting lures for Koke's at O'Dell and Waldo along with Wickiup, the trick is to know where the fish are. Look for feeding fish in the early am or the late evening, unless you have a sonar on your float tube, then when you go out you will have a better idea where to try your luck.

Yes. The lake was 74.4 degrees at the surface on saturday. All of my fish were caught between 30-50' using a downrigger.

One thing you might try...at first/last light with a fly on the surface. There were lots of fish rising in the morning before the sun hit the water.

Good Luck!
