Has anyone been up to Timothy Lake lately? I'm thinking about taking the boat and kids next weekend. Looking for a report.

Went up today...18 inch brookie trolling by the dam (on an pink/purple 1.5" Apex) and a couple of miniature kokanee. Seemed to be better than most of the others fishing today from the conversation at the boat ramp.
Pretty slim pickins. |

I'm heading up there in the morning for 3 days and I was wondering if kokanee can be caught from a float tube? or from the bank? I've only heard of people catching them while trolling usually using a downrigger. Am I better off limiting my efforts to the trout?

Yes. The lake was 74.4 degrees at the surface on saturday. All of my fish were caught between 30-50' using a downrigger. One thing you might try...at first/last light with a fly on the surface. There were lots of fish rising in the morning before the sun hit the water. Good Luck! |
