:Timothy Lake was formed a hydro-electric storage reservoir when the Oak Grove Fork of the Clackamas River was Dammed in the 1950's. It is one of the larger lakes in the Mount Hood National Forest. The lake sets in a forested setting. A Forest Service road parallels the south sid of the lake and a hiking trail encircles the entire lake which makes access easy. The water level stays full during the spring and summer months with draw-down happening in the fall. The lake remains drawn down about twenty feet most of the winter and refills with snow melt the following spring. In most places the shoreline is fairly steep, so fly fishing is done mostly from boats or float tubes. Fishing can also be done from the log boom which reaches across the lake a couple of hundred yards above the dam. ODFW Fish Stocking Schedule. Timothy Lake is referred to as Timothy Meadows Reservoir.

Hatches: Timothy Lake is noted for prolific hatches of Callibaetis may flies, Hexaginia may flies and chironomids. This lake gets terrific terrestrial falls of ants and termites. Crayfish patterns & wooly buggers are also productive.
How to get there from our store: Hwy 26 (E) to Skyline Rd. (paved), then (7) miles to lake.
Approximate distance: 40 mi.
Camping reservations: The various camp grounds around Timothy Lake feature nearly 200 camp sites. Call 877-444-6777 or reserve space online using the National Recreation Reservation Service for any of the four Timothy Lake campgrounds:
Gone Creek, Hoodview, Oakfork or Pine Point.

Best: May - July but also fishes well in the fall
Hydro-electric reservoir: fairly stable water level
Elevation: 3217'
Area: 1282 acres max.
Depth: 80' max.
Fish species: stocked rainbows average 9" to 12", brood trout to 10 lb., self perpetuating brook, cutthroat, rainbow, brown trout & kokenee salmon. Some very large trout are available.
Regulations: general/bait allowed - motors allowed - speed limit controlled

Awesome! Thanks for the info, shouldn't be much longer now and the other lakes in the Mt. Hood wilderness will start to become accessible as well. I can't wait for some good hike in fishing.

Always looking forward to the first trip to Timothy. I'll be there too on Sat. Will arrive at Oak Fork CG/ramp at about 8am. I'll have those stickers on from that "other" website

This is my boat. Say Hi! ( I don't know your boat but I'll be suspicious of any smokin'/drinkin' guys in a 15ft'r!) Jim

Oops- sorry- forgot to answer your question. Bought it with the top with boat new- at Steven's Marine. Cost was $500 back then. have heard it's more like $1K now. Had a couple little tears on each side window in the same spot after 5 years. Could've prevented that if had been more on the ball.

They are going on 8 years now and still going strong- way better that I thought they would. Roll'em- DON'T FOLD'EM seems to be working.

There are lots of places around that custom build these- look in yellow pages.

Hey guys, just an update. I just got back from Timothy. We stayed three days up there and it was awesome! The fishing was really good. My son and I took our pontoons and trolled the south side and did very well. We only caught a couple kokes but tons of planters. It was a fun trip.
