Wikson this morning 6/10

Hit the water about 6:30 this morning. I purchased a new fly rod and reel yesterday and couldn't wait to try it out. Picked up one about 8" thus removing the skunk from the new rod. Boy what a difference rods can make in casting. I could actually feel the rod load! My old rod is a Southbend 8' 5-6 wt. that I picked up used to learn on and see if I really wanted to get into flyfishing. My new outfit is a Wright McGill 9' 5wt med./fast action and a Wright McGill dragonfly reel from Rivercity Flyshop. can't wait to use it on Lost lake.

Access to Lost lake will be restricted June 15-25 while the Oregon National Guard rebuilds the parking area. Walk in will still be allowed but boat will not.

New rods are always fun to break in.

Good job de-skunking the new rod! If that smell sets in it can be hard to remove :)
