Steel on the lower Descutes

Hey everyone, I have not been around for a while things in the homelife have been out of sorts for a while but are returning to normal. I finally got my trip in on the lower deschutes for steelhead. I was there 3 weekends ago and went 1 for 2 on top with a purple peril. it was my first experience with steelhead fishing on the top with a flie, WOW! what a take! i am hooked. i was fishing about 1 mile up from the mouth. if you have not had a chance to do this it should go in your bucket list!

at the time i was there it was a moderate crowd. i was at our hole at 4:00 am. other people were walking by us shortly after.
