How many of you are fishing mild rapids, looking for holding fish?

I've been finding the salmon holding in rapids are very receptive to spinners & plugs. They're usually in 2'-3' of water on my favorite stream and difficult to spot without polarized glasses unless they move.

On high fishing pressure days i like to fish "the beads" in slower rapids..right down the center, particularly on your favorite river-

My experience is fish holding in heavier water are better biters as well.

Less time for them to think about your offering.. The real trick is getting your offering "to" them in these spots.

Low water steelhead I'm targeting a few areas and shallower /slower rapids are one of them.

When I fish big jigs for salmon I always fish faster water either in a rapid or just below it. Fish are definitely more receptive there.
