ODF&W announce along with Washington DFW a total ocean closure for salmon this year. Seems that the coho up north are having a tuff time. They fear that if the ocean is open to chinook there will be a high incident of mortality to incidental coho catch. There will be a one marked chinook limit on the Columbia and most coastal rivers. They haven't done it yet but they are considering closing bottom fishing inside the 40 fathom line to create a safe zone for coho. I think it's time to sell the boat and get back to the fly rod.
