A pontoon project!

You guys probably don't care but I just need to share this because i'm so excited about it! So I bought I used pontoon not too long ago but the frame was a little damage with some rust, the former owner use to fish tide water a lot! So now was my turn to try to get it a little better looking (at least)
So this the pontoon a 10 footer steelheader! You can see all the rust in the frame!

This is the anchor I got with it, do you guys think is fine? How heavy a anchor should be for this type of pontoon?

Trout-tacular!
Sweet ride.

A little elbow grease and some paint goes a long way.

Good work!! It looks awesome. I like the pole holder and the anchor system. I just got a pontoon myself a few weeks ago. Its only a 8 footer though. I second the questions about the anchor weight though. I welded up a mold for a triangle shaped anchor, and I am going to melt down some lead wheel weights from the tire shop I work at.

Nice work!Excellent boat, and a nice set of mini mags. Pontoon fishing is so much fun!Bump em down the river when drift boats can't. I find anchors to be more of a hassle than they are worth. But the size you choose depends on how swift the water is, you will be anchoring in. I use a rubber bungee to hook up to trees, brush, roots ect. This technique keeps you from swinging in the current, but limits your options on where you can stop.:D

WOW! Well done!! This thread has forced me to go back and re-evaluate everything about the purchase and set up of my own pontoon!!

In my opinion you made a GREAT choice of purchase, and, to me, your metal work on the frame is very impressive!! I have some rust showing up on the frame of my own toon, would you mind going into some detail about these paint types- basically why you chose the materials you did?

Great job!!
