Hello everyone~
I'm new to OFF and new to fishing. My brother has been teaching me the ropes for a couple of months now. I believe I have gotten hooked. no pun intened..okay maybe a little. Anyway, I just caught my first sturgeon this last weekend and it was a big shaker (39"). I want to do more fishing and more fishing and wondering if anyone knows of any good holes around hayden island (janzten beach) were I can get a hog? Thanks for any adivice or tips in advance. |

I assume your talking about from a boat??? Lots of sturgeon fishing around the island. Easiest thing to do is just ride around in your boat and look to see where others are anchored. (although right now there are a lot of salmon fishermen out there to confuse you!)
Just below the railroad bridge is a popular spot. The MOST fished area is probably at the west end of the island where the Willamette meets the Columbia (Kelly Point). Again just go where the other boats are. Watch out for ships- and tugs moving ships around! Good Luck! Jim |
